On March 12, the People's Court of Quang Nam province held a first-instance trial of the murder case related to defendant Nguyen Van Dong Khanh (born in 2000, residing in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city). Khanh was sentenced to life in prison for "Murder" after committing a serious murder in a " kick-off".
According to the indictment, on the afternoon of July 22, 2024, Nguyen Van Dong Khanh, Vo Nguyen Quang Vu (born in 1986) and Vo Thanh Han (born in 1990), both residing in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam, organized the use of crystal meth at Vu's house in An Xuan Ward, Tam Ky City. After " prescribing the drug", Khanh continued to use more drugs alone and fell into a state of hallucinations, hearing a man's voice saying "come here, come here".
In the panic, Khanh took a 20-cm long Thai knife and wandered around and suddenly rushed in to stab Mr. H.B.H. many times in the neck, chest, and shoulder. (1980, residing in Tam Ky City) when he was stopping his motorbike on the concrete road nearby. The victim died on the spot. After committing the crime, Khanh put the knife in his pocket and quickly fled.
After returning to Vu's house, Khanh took a motorbike and ran to his friend's rented room in Hai Chau District (Da Nang City) to hide. Meanwhile, knowing that Khanh had just killed someone, Vu was afraid of being culled in, so he wiped the blood in the house, hid the phone and drug use tools in the cabinet to erase the traces.
However, using professional measures, Quang Nam Provincial Police quickly identified Khanh as the culprit. On July 23, 2024, the authorities arrested and transferred the subject to Quang Nam for investigation.
After the trial, the People's Court of Quang Nam province sentenced defendant Khanh to life in prison for "Murder"; defendant Vu to 9 years in prison for 2 crimes of "Organizing illegal use of drugs" and "Concealing a crime"; defendant Han to 7 years in prison for the crime of "Organizing illegal use of drugs".
