According to Lao Dong reporter's research, from the end of 2024 to now, 2 new social housing projects have continuously started construction in Dong Anh district (Hanoi).
For example, the Thang Long Green City social housing project at plot CT3 - Kim Chung New Urban Area (Dong Anh District) has just started construction in early March 2025. This is information that is attracting the attention of many people.
The complex consists of 3 buildings with 12 floors and an attic, expected to provide more than 1,100 apartments, accommodating more than 3,900 people. The apartments have an area of 50-64 m2, with 2-3 bedrooms.
Notably, the selling price of this new social housing area is only about 18.4 million VND/m2 (including 5% VAT and 2% maintenance fee).
With the above unit price, a 49.8 m2 apartment in the project costs about 916.3 million VND/unit. The largest apartment of 64 m2 costs about 1.2 billion VND. The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Previously, in December 2024, the social housing project in Uy No commune (Dong Anh district) was also started with 4 9-storey blocks of houses, providing 466 apartments for low-income people and officers and soldiers of the armed forces in Hanoi.
This is the first social housing project of Corporation 319 - a company under the Ministry of National Defense, expected to be completed in October 2026.

According to Lao Dong reporters, in the period of 2021-2024, Hanoi has completed 13 social housing projects (10 projects have been completely completed and 3 projects have been partially completed), with 11,334 apartments.
This figure is not too high compared to the target of 56,200 apartments by 2030 according to the project to build at least 1 million social housing units, however, it has accounted for nearly 1/6 of the total number of apartments nationwide completed in the period of 2021-2024.
From now until 2030, Hanoi must complete 44,866 more units, and in 2025 alone, 4,670 units will be completed.
Speaking at the National Online Conference on removing difficulties and obstacles, promoting the development of social housing chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the afternoon of March 6, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee - informed that in 2025, Hanoi will continue to start 5 projects with a scale of 10,220 apartments.
In the 2026 - 2030 period, according to the assigned targets of 37,500 apartments, Hanoi City has also prepared 5 projects, and will have about 57,170 apartments meeting the assigned targets.
In particular, Hanoi will also take the lead in establishing concentrated social housing areas. Currently, the city is implementing 5 concentrated social housing areas, and is currently bidding and selecting investors, with 2 concentrated social housing areas in Dong Anh district, Tien Duong 1 and Tien Duong 2, with a land area of 84 hectares, expected to provide about 6,500 social housing apartments in the coming time.
