On October 5, Mr. Pham Van Chau - Head of the Department of Housing Management and Real Estate Market (Department of Construction of Ben Tre province) - said that currently, in Ben Tre province, there are 3 social housing areas and projects that have been completed and put into use, including: Go Dang Staff Housing Project, CC1 area of Son Dong Social Housing Project (Ben Tre City) and Giao Long Industrial Park Workers Housing Area (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province). These 3 areas and projects have a total of 542 houses.
Mr. Chau added that currently, the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province is also urging the investor to deploy and complete by the end of 2025 for the CC2 area of the Son Dong social housing project.
“The People's Committee of Ben Tre province has approved the selling price at CC1 area of the Son Dong social housing project at over 15 million VND/m2. CC1 area has 95 social housing apartments. Up to now, after the Department of Construction has assessed, there are 73 applications that meet the right subjects to enjoy social housing policies according to legal regulations at CC1 area of the above project,” said Mr. Chau.
Regarding the implementation of social housing for low-income workers in the area, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam - Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province - said that recently, at the Ben Tre province investment promotion conference 2024, the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee granted 3 investment policy decisions for 3 new urban area projects including Northeast Phu Khuong, My An (Ben Tre City) and My Hoa (Ben Tre City) with a total investment of 5,590.2 billion VND. When completing the above projects, the investor must reserve 20% of the land fund for social housing.
The Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province also shared that implementing the Prime Minister's project on "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030", Ben Tre aims to build about 4,700 social housing units by 2030.
In the period of 2022 - 2025, about 1,700 social housing apartments will be built and in the period of 2026 - 2030, about 3,000 social housing apartments will be built for beneficiary groups according to regulations, especially low-income workers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam said that in the coming time, the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province will continue to coordinate with relevant units, advise the People's Committee of Ben Tre province to deploy and call for investment related to social housing apartments in the area. Timely and proactively remove difficulties for investors and businesses, to implement social housing projects in the area. Thereby, bringing Ben Tre to the "finish line" of social housing apartments that the Prime Minister has assigned to the locality.
