The Ministry of National Defense received a petition from voters in Da Nang City sent by the National Assembly's Petition and Supervision Committee.
Voters reflected that the administrative board of the Technical Department/Military Region 5 (now merged between the Logistics Department and the Technical Department) currently has a number of facilities and vacant land that have not been exploited and used effectively, and are at risk of deterioration.
Meanwhile, the demand for land funds to serve cultural, sports and community activities of local people is very large.
Voters requested the Ministry of National Defense to coordinate with local authorities to review, assess the current situation, and study appropriate conversion plans, both ensuring national defense and security requirements and promoting effective land use, meeting the legitimate aspirations of the people.
Responding to this content, the Ministry of National Defense said that the land area of about 22,436m2 is managed and used by Factory 387 (Department of Logistics - Engineering, Military Region 5) at No. 1 Mai Thuc Lan (Ngu Hanh Son Ward, Da Nang City).
Current status, on the land of Military Region 5, construction works have been invested in to serve training, physical training, study, work, food, and regular accommodation for soldiers;
At the same time, arrange to have vehicles for combat readiness, all of the above construction items are still in use, are operating normally, are strictly managed, and are used for the right purpose according to regulations. The land has no vacant or abandoned areas.
The Ministry of National Defense assigned Military Region 5 to direct the Logistics - Technical Department to strengthen management, exploitation and use of the above land in accordance with the assigned functions, tasks and purposes, ensuring the service of military and defense tasks.
