Da Nang is placing high expectations on two inland waterway tourism projects worth VND10,000 billion and the International Fireworks Festival Complex worth VND11,000 billion.
Not only contributing to the completion of central urban infrastructure, these projects are also expected to create a new look for Da Nang, attracting investment in developing riverside urban areas.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just approved the investment policy for an inland waterway tourism project worth nearly VND10,000 billion. This project not only contributes to enhancing the value of local tourism but also promotes the development of the public transport system by waterway.
According to information from the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the project will focus on the construction and renovation and upgrading of 20 inland waterway wharves, while adding auxiliary works to serve the activities of the wharf.
The total land area used for these wharves will be up to more than 15 hectares. In addition, a large park with an area of over 25 hectares will be built behind 11 wharves, providing a space for relaxation and entertainment for people and tourists.
Notably, wharves will be deployed along famous rivers of Da Nang City such as Han River, Co Co, Vinh Dien, Cam Le. According to the plan, the project will be implemented from 2025 - 2031, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 (2025-2030) will complete one component project, while phase 2 (2028-2031) will implement two other component projects.
Recently, Da Nang City has signed an approval of the land use rights auction plan at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival Complex Project.
The project combines works to serve the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (Ngu Hanh Son ward), bordering the Han River, bordering Pham Huu Kinh street to the North; bordering An Tu Cong Chua street and Tuyen Son bridge to the South.
According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the investment goal of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival Construction Complex Project is to focus on organizing, demonstrating, and competing in international and domestic fireworks displays. At the same time, this is the place where the city will gather to organize key events.
The total project area is more than 210,000m2, the auction time is expected in the third or fourth quarter of 2025, the expected starting price is more than 23.8 million VND/m2.
In recent years, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has contributed to stimulating the city's tourism growth. Data from the units that compiled the Da Nang Fireworks Festival season (taking place from May 31 to July 12) has just ended, showing that Da Nang City welcomed nearly 2 million tourists, this is a record mark ever in a fireworks festival.
Total revenue from accommodation, food and beverage services and travel during the festival is estimated at VND 5,600 billion, nearly double the same period in 2024.
