The Ho Chi Minh Road construction investment project , Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section, passing through Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Long An provinces, has a total length of about 72.75km.
Of which, the length passing through Binh Duong province is 31.5km with a scale of 6-lane highway, design speed of 100km/h. This section will be restarted in November 2023.
According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the XL01 package of the Ho Chi Minh Road project, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section with a length of 31.5km stretching from Bau Bang district to Saigon river bordering Tay Ninh province, has a construction value of more than 681 billion VND.
Currently, the output has reached more than 151 billion VND, equivalent to 25% of the contract volume.

At the construction site, the contractor has mobilized more than 250 personnel and 100 machines and equipment to deploy 16 construction teams for roads and bridges. For the road section that has completed the ground construction, the contractor is currently constructing the road surface foundation layer of 26/31km, asphalt concrete pavement of 4/31km and is expected to complete the asphalt concrete pavement by December 2024.
On the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa route, there are 6 bridges including: Kenh Phuoc Hoa bridge, Cay Truong bridge, Ba Tu bridge, Thi Tinh bridge, Suoi Tre bridge and Thanh An bridge. The contractor aims to basically complete Ba Tu bridge, Kenh Phuoc Hoa bridge, Cay Truong bridge and Thi Tinh bridge in January 2025. Thanh An bridge in particular, 617m long - the longest bridge on the route, is expected to be closed in February 2025 and the entire route will be technically opened to traffic before April 30, 2025 (7 months shorter than the schedule in the contract).

Regarding the site handover , the section through Binh Duong province currently has more than 30 locations. Among them are residential land, garden land and technical infrastructure works in Dau Tieng and Bau Bang districts that have not been handed over to the contractor, affecting the overall progress of the project.


Request to hand over construction site in October 2024
According to the Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal , Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee recently surveyed the project's progress. Here, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi requested the leaders of Binh Duong province, Dau Tieng district, and Bau Bang district to complete the handover of the site to the construction contractor in October 2024.
