Quang Tri - After a decade of abandonment, the old headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha city is about to be auctioned.

On March 13, Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province confirmed that he had assigned the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to urgently complete related procedures to organize an auction of the right to use the land that was the old headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha city (Dong Luong ward, Dong Ha city).

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to develop a plan to auction land use rights for the above land plot for the purpose of residential land.

According to Decision No. 3132/QD-UBND dated December 9, 2016 of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the above land is intended to be urban residential land, but the decision of the Provincial People's Committee approving the adjustment of the general planning of Dong Ha city until 2045 and some decisions issued after 2016, the above land is under the agency headquarters planning.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested the People's Committee of Dong Ha city to urgently update and locally adjust the planning related to the land with the old headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha city with the purpose of using the land as residential land.

It is known that the Provincial Land Fund Development Center is coordinating with relevant units to complete procedures in March 2025, and is expected to auction the land in April 2025.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had many articles and information about the headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha City built and completed around 2006 with an amount of more than 4.8 billion VND. In 2015, after the People's Court of Quang Tri province completed the construction of a new headquarters, the People's Court of Dong Ha city moved to the old headquarters of the People's Court of Quang Tri province and handed over this headquarters to the Provincial People's Court for management.

Since then, the spacious 3-storey building has fallen into a state of disrepair. Overgrown with trees, rotten wooden doors, broken glass, damaged electrical bulbs... make this place a source of concern for the people.

Faced with the increasingly degraded building, Quang Tri province and the Supreme People's Court have coordinated and proposed that the Ministry of Finance submit to the Government to allow auction or transfer to the locality for handling, but it will not be approved until the end of 2024.

To implement the auction in accordance with regulations, in addition to having to complete many procedures, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also had to allocate 215 million VND from the budget to re-inspect the current status of the old headquarters of the People's Court of Dong Ha city.
