On May 12, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam - Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee - issued Decision No. 303/QD-UBND on approving the conversion of the function of the resettlement housing block belonging to public assets in the Traffic Road Project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road to National Highway 24 to social housing.
According to the decision, the resettlement housing block located in the urban area south of Dak Bla bridge (Group 01, Le Loi ward, Kon Tum city) will be converted to social housing functions.
The project consists of 9 floors, with a total floor area of 8,856.5m2, with 96 apartments with an area of 49m2 to 70m2 and auxiliary items.
After conversion, the entire housing fund will belong to public assets and will be used for lease.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to determine eligible subjects for renting houses; at the same time, perform the function of managing houses belonging to public assets according to regulations.
Currently, Kon Tum province has two social housing projects being implemented with a total of 384 apartments. In the 2021-2024 period, 144 units have been completed, and it is expected that an additional 240 units will be completed by 2025.
Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee directs to speed up the construction progress of social housing projects in the area.
These projects contribute to improving living conditions for low-income people and workers in industrial parks and promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the locality.
