The road project from My Lam Mineral Spring Tourist Area to National Highway 2D connecting to Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway was started at the end of 2021. With a total length of nearly 9km, the total investment is 487 billion VND according to urban road standards.
It is expected that this route will be completed and put into use in early 2025. However, due to land clearance problems, construction work is facing difficulties, and the project is at risk of not being able to finish on time.
By the end of March 2025, nearly 7 out of a total of 8.9km of the entire route have been completed, and auxiliary items such as sidewalks, trees, and lighting are under construction.
However, about 2km of the section through Tuyen Quang City is being constructed in a "sticky rice and bean" style because the site has not been handed over. The reason is that some households have not agreed to the compensation plan and have not accepted relocation.
According to the Land Fund Development Center of Tuyen Quang City, there are still over 20 households in the area that have not approved the handover of land for 2 key transport projects.
Currently, the authorities of Tuyen Quang City are actively mobilizing and mobilizing resources to clear the land (GPMB), ensuring the progress of the projects.

Similarly, the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (section through Tuyen Quang province) with a total investment of nearly 6,800 billion VND) is also facing difficulties due to many locations that cannot be cleared, causing contractors to be slow.
According to the report of the Tuyen Quang Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (representative of the investor of Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway), the entire route has been handed over 64.4 km, reaching 92.40%, and there are still 5.3 km that have not been cleared.
The site clearance work still has 65 bottlenecks related to unresolved problems with 439 households. Many families have not agreed to receive compensation and have not relocated to hand over the site.
This has more or less affected the construction progress when the total implementation value has reached 28% of the contract value and is about 7% behind schedule. Not to mention arising problems such as lack of soil materials for roadbed construction and lack of stone materials for the Project.
Recently, on March 21, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son, when inspecting the progress of Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, stated that if the site clearance work of 100% of the site was not completed in March 2025, it would affect the construction progress and there was a risk that the project would be behind schedule.
Previously, on December 18, 2025, the Government Office issued Notice No. 118 on the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son for the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (section through Tuyen Quang province) requesting the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province to commit to completing the site clearance work and handing it over in March 2025 according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
