According to Lao Dong reporter's investigation, Hanoi People's Committee has just approved the 2025 land use plan of a series of districts.
Notably, in Long Bien district there will be 3 social housing projects including:
- Gia Quat housing project (social housing and business housing) in Thuong Thanh ward with a scale of 1 hectare invested by BIC Vietnam Joint Stock Company;
- Thuong Thanh social housing area and technical infrastructure connection in Thuong Thanh ward with a scale of more than 6 hectares invested by a joint venture of Him Lam Thu Do Joint Stock Company and BIC Vietnam Joint Stock Company;
- Social housing project at CT land plot under CT1 planning project to build technical infrastructure of land plot for auction of land use rights in Long Bien ward.
A recent report from the Ministry of Construction reported that in 2024, only 108 social housing projects nationwide will be completed, equivalent to 47,532 apartments. By 2025, it is expected that 135 projects will be implemented with nearly 101,900 social housing units (an increase of 2.1 times).
Of which, in Hanoi alone, about 11 social housing projects will be completed, providing nearly 6,000 apartments, equivalent to 345,000m2 of construction floor space.
A representative of the Hanoi Department of Construction said that 4/5 projects for which the Department has completed investment project proposal documents are concentrated in the two districts of Dong Anh and Gia Lam with a scale of more than 200 hectares of land, equivalent to about 12,300 apartments.
In fact, in the early days of 2025, many social housing projects in Hanoi announced that they were eligible to sell apartments for rent after 5 years, such as Phu Lam Social Housing Area (Ha Dong District), CT2A High-rise Apartment Building (in Thach Ban Residential Area, Long Bien District), Ha Dinh Social Housing Area (in Ha Dinh New Urban Area, Thanh Xuan District).
