At the 33rd session on April 28, the People's Council of Kien Giang province voted to approve 3 draft resolutions on the Decision on the policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the tourism project in Phu Quoc city.
Previously, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province submitted a proposal to decide on the policy of converting forest use to other purposes for the forest area approved by the Prime Minister to be removed from the forest planning to implement the project of 3 Tourist Areas.
Accordingly, the Resolution deciding on the policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the Green Hill eco-tourism project was passed.
Green Hill Eco-tourism Area is located in Sub-area 64 of Ganh Dau Commune and Cua Can Commune, Phu Quoc City. The total project implementation area is nearly 76 hectares. The land area planned outside the forest planning is 75.81 hectares, of which the forested area is 71.88 hectares and the unforested area is 3.93 hectares. The area proposed for approval of the policy of converting forest use to other purposes is 71.88 hectares.
According to the provincial People's Committee, the implementation of this project has an important meaning, contributing to promoting socio -economic development in the northern island, especially in Ganh Dau and Cua Can communes, Phu Quoc city. The project not only enriches the local tourism ecosystem but also creates motivation to attract investment, improve the quality of life for the community and gradually affirm the Phu Quoc position on the international tourism map.
Approving the Resolution deciding on the policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the Rach Nhum high-end eco-tourism resort project. The project is implemented in Ganh Dau commune, Phu Quoc city, with a total area of 16.2 hectares.
The land area outside the forest planning is 12.08 hectares, of which no forest is 1.61 hectares. The area proposed for approval of the policy of converting forest use to other purposes is 10.47 hectares.
Tourism services are a spearhead industry in Phu Quoc Island's development strategy. The investment in the project aims to form a high-class eco-tourism complex with villas, resorts, hotels, green areas, water surfaces, restaurants, high-class resorts, etc. Contributing to the development of tourism, resorts and entertainment for tourists, promoting the overall economic and tourism development of Phu Quoc island in accordance with the planning orientation of Phu Quoc city.
Approving the Resolution on Decision on policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the Rach Vam Garden Ecotourism Project - 55 ha area.
This tourist area is implemented in Ganh Dau commune, with a total area of 55 hectares. The land area included outside the forest planning is 0.82 ha, the area proposed for approval of the policy of converting forest use to other purposes is 0.82 ha.
The Provincial People's Committee said that the investment in the project contributes to the formation of a high-class eco-tourism complex with villas, resorts, hotels, green areas, water surfaces, restaurants, high-class resorts, etc. Thereby developing tourism, resorts and entertainment for tourists, promoting the overall economic and tourism development of Phu Quoc island is completely in line with the general goal of Phu Quoc City.
At the same time, creating a combination of sea resorts and resort tourism and high -class events in the connection with other areas such as: Ong Doi Mui, Duong Dong, Bai Ba Kua, Bai Truong, Dat Do beach, Sao beach, small beaches of Nam An Thoi Island, Bai Vong, Rach Vem, Ganh Dau, Bai Dai, Vung Bau Beach, Cua Can Beach ... Forming a tourist area for Phu Quoc island.
