Park renovated after years of disrepair
Dam Vuong Park is located on Ly Thanh Tong Street in Hai Son Ward (Do Son District, Hai Phong). The Dam Vuong Park construction project was approved by Hai Phong City People's Committee in 2002 and Do Son District People's Committee approved the adjustment once in Decision No. 2916/QD-UBND dated December 26, 2016 with a total investment of nearly 29 billion VND from the central budget revenue left for the district. The implementation period was from 2002 to 2017. However, due to problems with site clearance and capital, the project was left unfinished for many years, and many items were degraded.
Faced with this situation, on July 20, 2023, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City issued Decision No. 2109/QD-UBND on the investment policy of the Dam Vuong Park Renovation and Renovation Project based on the current status of the park with a total area of 82,882 m2, a total investment of more than 68 billion VND. Of which, the city budget is 80%, Do Son district budget is 20%, implemented in 2023-2024.
Since July 2023, Hai Phong City residents, especially Do Son District residents, have been looking forward to the project being implemented every day. Because after many years of being unfinished, Dam Vuong Park is covered with weeds and garbage, becoming a "land" for grazing and grazing buffaloes of some households. However, it was not until November 23, 2024 that the project was started.
Strive to complete by April 2025
The project to renovate and beautify Dam Vuong Park includes the following main items: renovating vacant land; ineffectively used land, renovating square walkways, renovating green areas, renovating drainage and water supply systems, adding infrastructure systems to decorate the park landscape, constructing auxiliary items, adding grass, plants, lighting, etc.
According to Lao Dong reporters, on the morning of December 19, many paths and square walkways are under construction. Vacant land with overgrown grass has been cleared and leveled to serve the construction of items. The building of the Do Son District Cultural Information and Sports Center located in the park is also being repaired and renovated, including walls and roofs...
According to the Do Son District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the contractor Viet Uc Group Joint Stock Company is currently constructing items, expected to reach about 10% of the work volume. The unit urged the contractor to focus on human and material resources, implement the project, strive to complete the project in April 2025, create a space for recreation and entertainment for local people, and improve the urban appearance of Do Son District before the 2025 tourist season.
