According to Lao Dong reporter, the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a Decision approving the update of the list of 72 investment projects to build houses and urban areas in the city's Housing Development Plan for the period 2021-2025.
Notably, there are 5 projects in Thuong Tin district, including:
1. The project to invest in the construction of a social housing area at a plot of land coded OM.20 (Ha Hoi commune, Thuong Tin district). The project has a total investment of about 250 billion VND, with 35 apartments.
Expected to be implemented from the first quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026, the project is currently undergoing investment preparation.
2. The project to invest in the construction of a social housing area on a plot of land coded OM.21 (Ha Hoi commune, Thuong Tin district) with a total investment of 168 billion VND, including 24 apartments.
The project is expected to be implemented from the first quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026.
3. The project to invest in the construction of a social housing area on a plot of land coded OM.22 (Ha Hoi commune, Thuong Tin district) with a total investment of 140 billion VND, including 20 apartments.
It is expected to be implemented in the period from the first quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026.
4. The project to invest in the construction of a social housing area at a plot of land coded OM.21 in Thuong Tin town (Thuong Tin district) with an investment of 465.5 billion VND. The project has 54 apartments with a floor area of 52,139m2.
It is expected to be implemented in the first quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2027.
5. The project to invest in the construction of a social housing area in a plot of land coded OM.22 in Thuong Tin town (Thuong Tin district) with a total investment of 341 billion VND with 48 apartments.
The project is expected to be implemented from the first quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2027.

According to real estate experts, the characteristic that surprised and attracted the attention of the people was that 5 social housing projects in Thuong Tin district were all small-scale, from only 20 apartments to the most of 54 apartments.
Therefore, these projects are expected to have a quick progress and be put into operation soon, providing apartments to the market in a short time.
Referring to this content, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association - commented that the Housing Law (amended) plays an important role in promoting the supply of social housing.
The new points in this law contribute to removing the difficulties that the market has faced in recent times, including "bottlenecks" in social housing. In particular, the new Housing Law stipulates that enterprises oriented towards developing social housing will receive many incentives with more open mechanisms
According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, in order to meet the demand for social housing, since 2020, the City People's Committee has issued a housing development plan for the period 2021-2025. In which, the new development target of about 1.215 million m2 of social housing floors was determined.
