According to the plan, the urban area is oriented to develop a modern, synchronous living space, combining housing, commercial, service and public utilities such as green parks, schools, medical stations, and entertainment areas.
The project selects investors according to the provisions of the law on bidding.
The total land area expected to be used for the project is 1,843,072 m2 in Dao Thanh commune, My Tho city. This area does not include the existing land, the relic area and 81,408 m2 of land along the Bao Dinh River that are included in the 1/500 scale detailed planning adjustment project approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 731/QD-UBND dated March 30, 2023.
The project will invest in the synchronous construction of a technical infrastructure system including a traffic system, leveling, rainwater and wastewater drainage system, water supply, lighting, communication, green tree system, theme park, and public works such as schools, medical stations, commercial and service areas.
Notably, the project allocates 151,800 m2 of land to build social housing, providing accommodation for about 6,188 people. This is an important highlight, demonstrating the province's commitment to ensuring social security and solving the housing needs of low-income people, workers and laborers.
The total estimated investment capital of the project is VND26,211 billion. Of which, the cost of infrastructure construction and works (excluding compensation, support, and resettlement) is VND 20,118 billion; the cost of compensation, support, and resettlement is VND 6,093 billion.
The project is implemented in two phases. In the preparation period (2025 - 2026), bidding will be organized to select investors and carry out site clearance. The construction investment period lasts for 6 years and is divided into 3 stages from 2027 to 2032.
The project's sales and business activities of products and services are expected to start from 2028 and last until 2035, after fully meeting legal conditions.
The People's Committee of Tien Giang province also noted that in case the process of selecting investors or site clearance is behind schedule, the project implementation time frames will be adjusted to suit the reality.
