The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 has a total length of about 207 km, passing through 5 old localities including Ho Chi Minh City (20.5 km), Binh Duong (47.95 km), Dong Nai (46.08 km), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (18.23 km) and Long An (74.5 km).
After merging with Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, the length of the section through Ho Chi Minh City has increased to nearly 87 km - the longest in the entire route.
The project will be cleared on a full scale of 8 lanes, although phase 1 will only be constructed in advance of 4 lanes. The total cost of compensation and support to reclaim land through the new Ho Chi Minh City is estimated at more than 20,000 billion VND.

In which, the section of Ring Road 4 passing through the old Ho Chi Minh City is mainly located in the two districts of Cu Chi and Nha Be. In Cu Chi, it is expected to reclaim about 173.6 hectares of land, affecting 1,235 households. In Nha Be, this figure is 32.86 ha, involving 27 households.
The total cost of compensation, support and resettlement for the section passing through the old Ho Chi Minh City is estimated at about VND 8,218 billion.
In the old Binh Duong province, Ring Road 4 passes through many residential areas of Thu Dau Mot city, Tan Uyen city, Ben Cat city and Bac Tan Uyen district (before the merger), with a total area to be reclaimed of about 239.8 hectares.
The project will affect about 1,451 households, of which about 300 cases need to be resettled. The total expenditure for compensation, support and resettlement approved by the People's Committee of the old Binh Duong province is 7,926 billion VND.
In the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Ring Road 4 project reclaimed about 146.8 hectares of land, involving 595 households. The estimated cost for compensation and support is VND3,924 billion.
Currently, the nearly 48 km section of Ring Road 4 passing through the old Binh Duong province was started in June 2025. The remaining sections are about 160 km long - just approved by the National Assembly with a total investment of about 120,412 billion VND.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City is stepping up the implementation of procedures related to compensation, support and resettlement, with the requirement to strictly implement legal regulations, ensuring transparency and publicity.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also pays special attention to stabilizing the lives of affected people, having reasonable compensation plans, while supporting livelihoods, vocational training and creating conditions for resettlement.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Construction to review and consider using a part of the remaining resettlement land fund to serve the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project. At the same time, it is required that relevant units urgently prepare a report proposing an investment policy to build resettlement areas to serve this project.
It is expected that Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 will officially start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2028.
When put into operation, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 will not only contribute to reducing traffic pressure in the inner city but also play a strategic traffic axis, connecting the expressway system, national highways, seaports and airports.
