Previously, Rashford was left out of the squad by Amorim in the match Man United won Man City 2-1 last weekend.
The 27-year-old said in an interview on Tuesday that he wanted to leave the club. Asked afterwards if Spurs' victory had made him rethink his stance on the England striker, Amorim said his decision remained the same.
"I feel like I'm doing the right thing for the team so it's never a mistake. We have to make a choice. I don't think it's a mistake because I always do what's best for the team in my opinion," he said.
Without Rashford, Man United had some exciting minutes as they pulled back 2-3 after falling 0-3 early. Spurs made it 4-2 before Jonny Evans scored a last-minute consolation goal. Ange Postecoglou's side won to book a semi-final against Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Amorim had to regret the first 8 minutes of the second half when Spurs scored 2 goals.
“We weren’t the best team all game, but for most of the game I thought Man United were better. I think we lost connection for eight minutes and it was really hard to recover.
We had scored two goals and had time to think about winning. But Spurs' fourth goal made things difficult for us. We didn't have enough time to equalize and were eliminated from the cup," said Amorim.
