Amorim got his first win as Man United head coach with a 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on the morning of November 29.
This result helps Man United get 9 points after 5 matches and rank 12th on the rankings. The Red Devils still have a lot of hope to be in the Top 8 after the group stage.
The Norwegian side led Man United 2-1 at half-time and the Portuguese coach admitted that watching his Man United side in his early weeks in charge was thrilling.
"I'm nervous because I don't know what's going to happen because you can't control anything at the moment. I don't know the players and we haven't worked together much. We go to the game excited, but at the same time nervous because we don't know how the game will go," Amorim told TNT Sports after the match.
Amorim made six changes to the starting line-up from the 1-1 draw with Ipswich, bringing in Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Manuel Ugarte, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund from the start.
However, not everyone played up to expectations. Malacia and Anthony played very poorly on the wings. Mason Mount was also withdrawn at the beginning of the second half. Martinez has not regained his form after his recent injury. Only Ugarte and Hojlund played well, in which the Danish striker scored a double.
Amorim said he saw an improvement in the team against Bodo/Glimt and revealed he will be forced to make more changes when United host Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on 1 December.
"I think we improved against Ipswich and improved the quality of the ball. We will have to change players against Everton. We tried to press constantly and the last 10 minutes with Bodo/Glimt were difficult.
I felt Rasmus Hojlund was exhausted, some players were tired. Antony came back from injury, he had to go off and we made four changes because of the players' fitness. Man United need to show unity at this time," Amorim concluded.
