On the afternoon of November 26, the Thai team announced the 26-player squad for the 2024 AFF Cup (new name is ASEAN Cup).
They brought a very strong squad, with stars in high form such as Ekanit Panya, Supachai, Suphanat, Nicholas Mickelson, Kritsada, Pansa Hemviboon, Chalermsak, Jonathan Khemdee, Worachit, Ben Davis... There was only one new player in this training session, defender Kritsada Nontharat (True Bangkok United).
This tournament, the War Elephants are missing a few big names such as Chanathip, Theerathon Bunmathan, Suphachai Chaided, Elias Dolah. However, with this squad, coach Masatada Ishii and his team are still capable of challenging for the highest title in the region.
The entire Thai team will gather from December 2nd, training at their headquarters before moving to Vietnam to play the opening match against Timor Leste on December 8th. Some players with club matches such as Supachok, Woorachit... will join the team later.
