Arsenal will host Manchester United in the most notable match of the FA Cup third round. Both teams are expected to field their strongest lineups in this match.
The Red Devils had an excellent 2-2 draw against Liverpool last weekend in the Premier League. According to coach Ruben Amorim, Man United will not make many changes in personnel at this time.
"At the moment, I'm living day by day. What I'm thinking is we've had a week without playing, we've had a day off after Liverpool and we can train a little bit.
So it doesn't make sense to rest players now, for both games here. We have to put out the best team and we have to watch the performance first. Now, we change less, although sometimes I have to pick new players. At the moment, I feel they are at the same level" - said Amorim.
Amorim has confirmed that reserve goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will start in place of Andre Onana. However, that could be the only change he decides to make.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are likely to make more changes to their starting line-up as they look to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final in midweek, but the Gunners will certainly not field an inexperienced squad.
Riccardo Calafiori will replace Myles Lewis-Skelly at right-back, while Mikel Merino takes Thomas Partey's place in midfield. Raheem Sterling could make his first start since recovering from a knee injury, while Gabriel Jesus is also being considered to replace Kai Havertz.
Like Amorim, coach Mikel Arteta is also hoping to win the FA Cup this season. The Spaniard said: "It's a big part of our history. We've won it 14 times and it's a competition that's very close to us.
It's a fantastic game to play against a big club. And also a very special occasion with the number of fans they'll bring."
Arsenal's expected lineup - (4-3-3): Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Rice, Merino, Odegaard, Sterling, Martinelli, Jesus.
Expected lineup Man United - (3-4-3): Bayindir, De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez, Mazraoui, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot, Amad, Hojlund, Fernandes.
The match between Arsenal and Man United takes place at 22:00 on January 12 (Vietnam time).
