Man City hosted West Ham in round 20 of the Premier League on the night of January 4 (Vietnam time). The Citizens had a good start when they opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Savinho crossed the ball into the penalty area and Vladimir Coufal accidentally scored an own goal, beyond the reach of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Savinho continued to cause problems down the left flank and contributed to the second goal, beating Coufal before setting up Haaland to head home in the 42nd minute.
West Ham had a decent first 45 minutes, but the absence of key striker Jarrod Bowen left them struggling to attack.
Early in the second half, Savinho made a favorable pass for Haaland to chip the ball past goalkeeper Areola, raising the score to 3-0. Just a few minutes later, taking advantage of Mohammed Kudus' mistake, Kevin De Bruyne pushed the ball for Foden to finish neatly into the West Ham net.
The visitors had many chances but could not take advantage. After many times threatening the City goal, the Hammers finally got an honorary goal thanks to Fullkrug in the 71st minute.
In the end, Man City won 4-1 and consolidated their position in 6th place in the rankings. They are only 2 points behind the 4th place team Chelsea. This is the first time the team has had 2 consecutive wins since October.
The team's confidence has returned, promising to soon bring The Citizens into the race for the top 4.
