Marcus Rashford has often had a good start under Manchester United managers. He scored on his Premier League debut under Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ruben Amorim. And after a brace in the 4-0 win over Everton, the England striker has scored three goals in his last two games.
"A new coach is always like that. But there are still many things to improve. Marcus Rashford could have done much better. We all have to improve. But it was a great job from the players," Amorim said of Rashford after the win over Everton.
Rashford is in a different situation to most of his Old Trafford teammates. While many of them are struggling to prove they deserve a place under Amorim, Rashford has a near-guaranteed future. The contract until 2028 with a salary of more than 300,000 pounds per week has spoken it all.
In that sense, most of the Man United players need to prove they can adapt to Amorim's new tactics. However, Amorim will also have to help Rashford implement his tactics to some extent.
The Englishman started as a centre-forward in Amorim's first game against Ipswich Town. Rashford was rested in last week's Bodo/Glimt win in the Europa League and returned to the starting lineup against Everton.
Rashford's first goal was a lucky one, as his shot hit Jarrad Branthwaite and then changed direction, leaving goalkeeper Jordan Pickford unable to block him.
However, the second goal was a stunning achievement for Rashford. At the beginning of the second half, Amad passed the ball just wide for Rashford to dribble down and finish through Pickford's feet.
Rashford's future at Old Trafford was once seriously doubted due to his poor form. However, after the first 3 matches under Amorim and 3 goals scored, the English striker showed that he is ready to reaffirm his position in the Man United shirt.
"We all, as individuals, want to get back to our best and then push to improve. So, even in the bad moments, you are still doing the right thing.
I feel full of energy and ready for the next match. The connection between us and the coach is gradually building. Amorim brings a positive attitude and that is spreading to the whole team" - the English striker said.
