In the first leg of the English League Cup semi-final, Arsenal lost 0-2 to Newcastle.
Since that defeat, the Gunners have won four games in a row in all competitions, including a 5-1 thrashing of Man City to keep pace with Liverpool in the Premier League title race at the weekend.
The explosion in attack has given Mikel Arteta and his team a boost of confidence. There is hope that the Gunners can turn things around against Eddie Howe's side, as Newcastle have lost two consecutive games at St. James' Park, despite their overall form not being bad.
Coach Howe did not have many options to rotate the squad. Key players showed fatigue in the second half, leading to poor results.
With a two-goal lead, Newcastle will still have to do their best to preserve their chances of progressing. The pressure from Arsenal will certainly be huge, so The Magpies need to prepare mentally for a difficult and exhausting battle.
