Liverpool continues to disappoint

On the night of December 7 (Vietnam time), Liverpool were unfortunately held to a 3-3 draw by Leeds United in the Premier League.

After the victory over West Ham, Liverpool continued to disappoint when they only had two consecutive draws against Sunderland and Leeds United.

At Elland Road, the "Red Brigade" is only a few minutes away from the full three points, but they still cannot maintain their advantage and have to accept sharing the points.

Before the match, coach Arne Slot's decision to bench Mohamed Salah for the third consecutive match attracted a lot of attention. However, Liverpool still entered the match confidently, dominating the game and creating continuous pressure. Curtis Jones almost opened the scoring with a shot that hit the crossbar, while Leeds could barely defend with a system of 5 defenders.

However, Liverpool's familiar weakness was exposed. They have a lot of possession but lack sharp shots. At the end of the first half, The Kop did not even have a shot on target.

Entering the second half, the match suddenly took place in a dramatic way. Taking advantage of a mistake by Leeds' defense, Hugo Ekitike scored two goals in a row in just two minutes, from 48 to 50, putting Liverpool ahead 2-0.

It seemed like the away team had held on to the victory, but the haste and lack of concentration cost them. Ibrahima Konate's careless foul earned Leeds a penalty, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin did not miss the opportunity to reduce the score in the 73rd minute. Just two minutes later, Anton Stach fired a decisive cross-angle shot, bringing the match back to the starting line.

After that, Liverpool almost ended the match with 3 points when Szoboszlai shot dangerously in the penalty area to increase the score to 3-2 in the 80th minute. But the painful scenario was repeated for Slot's side.

In the 90+6 minute, Tanaka took advantage of the messy ball in front of the goal to launch a shot from a tight angle, sealing a thrilling 3-3 draw. Leeds continued to revive strongly when defeating Chelsea and holding Liverpool to a draw, thereby temporarily widening the gap with the red light group.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew for the second consecutive match, missing the opportunity to return to the top 4 and putting Slot under even more pressure.
