Early morning of January 17 (Vietnam time), Man United welcomed the bottom team Southampton in round 21 of the Premier League. Despite playing at home, the Red Devils could not create enough pressure in the first half.
In the 43rd minute, Tyler Dibling headed the ball close to the goal and unfortunately hit Manuel Ugarte, changing trajectory, surprising Andre Onana.
Antony and Bruno Fernandes almost had chances to equalise in the second half but failed to capitalise. The home side were unable to attack against the Saints' crowded defence, despite controlling the game.
With just 10 minutes left, Amad's brilliance helped the Red Devils turn the game around. In the 82nd minute, Amad beat the Southampton goalkeeper in a one-on-one after combining with Joshua Zirkzee. The 22-year-old's left-footed volley in the 90th minute gave Man United an emotional lead.
In extra time, Harwood-Bellis made a mistake when Amad stole the ball, scoring the first hat-trick of his professional career.
This is also Man United's first hat-trick since Cristiano Ronaldo in a 3-2 win over Norwich City in April 2022.
The result moves United up to 12th, while Southampton remain 10 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.
