Man United get boost from Diallo before Arsenal match

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Amad Diallo has signed a contract extension with Man United until 2030, just before he and his teammates play against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

Diallo has been one of United's most influential players since Ruben Amorim took charge in November 2024, scoring three goals in his last six appearances, including the equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old Ivorian winger has made 50 appearances and scored nine goals since moving to Old Trafford from Atalanta in 2021, having previously spent time on loan at Rangers and Sunderland during his time at the club.

"I am really proud to sign this new contract. I have had some great moments with Man United but there is still great things ahead.

I have big ambitions for the game and want to make history with Manchester United. I have learned so much since arriving here four years ago. I am grateful to the coaches and staff who have helped me develop and to the fans who have pushed me forward every day.

It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I am absolutely convinced that we are on the right track and the future will be truly special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make the fans proud again,” said Amad Diallo.

Man United technical director Jason Wilcox believes Diallo will be a great asset to the club.

“Everyone is delighted with Amad’s development as his ability on the ball, versatility and determination make him a key part of Man United’s future,” he said.

The best years of his career are ahead of him and we all look forward to helping Amad fulfil his huge potential and achieve success at the club in the coming seasons.”

Amad Diallo's contract extension with Man United is very good news for the team. According to the schedule, Man United will visit Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on the evening of January 12.

In the Premier League, Man United lost 0-2 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. But at the moment, Arsenal are not in good form. They just lost 0-2 at home to Newcastle in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. In addition, the Gunners also do not have the service of Bukayo Saka due to injury.

On the contrary, Man United are in high spirits after drawing 2-2 at Liverpool, in a match where they were expected to lose, even lose heavily.

The Arsenal vs Man United match will take place at 22:00 on January 12.
