In an exclusive interview with the Telegraph, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said that many Man United players are currently receiving high salaries but have not contributed significantly. The British billionaire has not only named any players, but a few names have been listed including Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Antony and Jadon Sancho. Among them, Antony and Sancho are still on the team's payroll but are playing for another team on loan.
After receiving information from Sir Jim's interview, in the press conference before the match against Real Sociedad in the second leg of the 1/8 round of Europa League, Ruben Amorim had some dissatisfaction. According to the Portuguese strategist, some players could have played much better.
"To be honest, at the moment, the players and I are all playing under pressure. Therefore, everyone is trying every day to change.
Some people will talk about Casemiro, a player who has won countless titles. He can play much better than he is now. I think Sir Jim was honest in sharing this and our job is to make him change his thinking" - Ruben Amorim shared.

Casemiro is currently the highest-paid player at Man United. The Brazilian midfielder and other players have had their salary deducted by 25% because the team did not participate in the Champions League. However, the number of weeks that the former Real Madrid star receives is still below £300,000/week.
"If you are a world-class player and are playing for Manchester United, even me, who is not good enough to lead the team, all have to be proven by results.
In the training session to prepare for the match against Real Sociedad, I saw the players really want to prove it" - Ruben Amorim shared.
When asked about CEO Omar Berrada's statement about wanting to continue together when the new Old Trafford stadium is completed, Ruben Amorim only said he had the information. However, the 40-year-old strategist shared that he only wants to focus on the present because the future of the next 5 years is unpredictable. Amorim wants to do everything possible so that Man United can escape the current situation and not think too far.
Despite being poor in the Premier League and having been sent off from two domestic cup competitions, Man United can still boast of being the only team in the European Cup this season that is still unbeaten. They drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. Thereby, taking a slight advantage before the return match at home in the early morning of March 14.
