Manchester United has left 6 first-team stars at the Carrington training center in the context of coach Erik ten Hag's team going to Norway to play a friendly match before the season.
The "Red Devils" will face Rosenborg on Monday evening (local time) in Trondheim. Over the past week, Man United players have returned to normal training. However, Ten Hag will not be fully available as a group of players need to rest after international tournaments such as EURO and Copa America.
Man United will also be without Harry Maguire, who is still recovering from injury, alongside Andre Onana, Victor Lindelof, Amad, Antony and Jadon Sancho. The above players will still stay at Man United's training camp to practice their physical fitness according to their individual programs.
The "Red Devils" squad to Norway includes notable names such as Mason Mount, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. In addition, Ten Hag will add promising young players to the list when they have 2 friendly matches in Norway. After that, Man United will travel to the US to continue fighting before the new season.
New signing Joshua Zirkzee will not join Man United, despite completing his move to Old Trafford. The Dutch striker signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils when Man United agreed a deal worth more than £36 million with Bologna.
Zirkzee was part of the Dutch squad that reached the semi-finals of EURO 2024 before losing to England. The striker was brought on in the last minute of the game to find a goal but failed. This is also Zirkzee's second appearance in this year's tournament.
Just a few days after completing his move to Old Trafford, Zirkzee expressed his excitement at wearing a new shirt. "After talking with the Man United coach and board, I know the future here is very exciting and look forward to contributing my efforts to the success of the team.
I am a player who always gives my all to winning and is ready for the next challenge - reaching new heights in my career and winning many titles" - said the new Man United player.
