Chelsea cruised to an 8-0 win over FC Noah in the UEFA Conference League in midweek, a result that propelled the Blues to the top of the table thanks to their superior goal difference.
In the Premier League, their performance was also very positive. After a draw with Man United, Chelsea overtook Arsenal to enter the top 4. Both teams are now on 18 points, with the Gunners behind on goal difference.
Enzo Maresca's side are currently unbeaten in eight home games, but are yet to keep a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this season. Their defence is fragile but their attack is in the top three in the league, thanks largely to the brilliance of star man Cole Palmer.
There is reason to be confident when on the other side, Arsenal have also had problems to worry about since the beginning of November. They have continuously shown a deadlock in scoring, especially in the two defeats against Inter Milan and Newcastle. When visiting San Siro, Mikel Arteta's students made 46 crosses, but did not score any goals.
Meanwhile, a three-match winless streak in the Premier League has seen the Gunners drop to fifth in the table and seven points behind leaders Liverpool.
The positive statistic for Arsenal is that they have won their last six London derbies by an aggregate score of 22-3. That run includes a 5-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea last season.
