Overview
Inter Milan are one of the most in-form teams in Europe at the moment. Coach Simeone Inzaghi's team has only lost one match since the start of the season, ranking 3rd in Serie A and 5th in the Champions League.
The gap between Inter and the top of the table in both tournaments is very close. Therefore, if they continue their impressive form like this, winning the top spot is completely possible.
Inter are currently on an 11-match unbeaten run, including seven wins. In their most recent match, Inter had a devastating 5-0 victory away to Verona. It was the perfect start for the Italian representative before returning to the Champions League to face RB Leipzig.
In contrast to Inter, Leipzig have been inconsistent this season. Last weekend, they lost 3-4 to Hoffenheim. That was Leipzig's fourth consecutive winless match, including three losses.
In the Bundesliga, Leipzig's situation is still quite stable when ranked 3rd, but things are difficult for them in the Champions League.
Leipzig have lost all four of their opening games and are currently 32nd out of 36 in the table. However, Leipzig have had to face top European teams such as Liverpool, Juventus and Atletico Madrid in succession. With Inter, another big test awaits the German representative.
With their current form, it will be difficult for Leipzig to score points against Inter at Giuseppe Meazza.
The two teams have never met before in European competition, but RB Leipzig have a decent record against Italian opposition, winning two, losing two and drawing one of their five games, although their most recent meeting was a 3-2 defeat to Juventus earlier this season.
Human resources situation
Inter Milan are concerned about Hakan Calhanoglu's fitness after the midfielder suffered a thigh injury. Francesco Acerbi is also out after coming off early in the win over Verona at the weekend.
On the other side of the front line, Leipzig have a longer injury list as El Chadaille Bitshiabu, Yussuf Poulsen, Eljif Elmas, Xavi Simons, David Raum and Xaver Schlager are still sidelined.
Expected lineup:
Inter Milan: Sommer, Dumfries, De Vrij, Pavard, Bisseck, Zielinski, Frattesi, Mkhitaryan, Darmian, Thuram, Martinez.
RB Leipzig: Gulacsi, Geertruida, Orban, Klostermann, Henrichs, Nusa, Haidara, Baumgartner, Kampl, Openda, Sesko.
The match between Inter Milan and Leipzig takes place at 3:00 a.m. on November 27 (Vietnam time).
