Overview
Real Madrid are going through their toughest time in recent seasons. Los Blancos have lost three of their last five matches against Barcelona, AC Milan and Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid's two recent victories were against much weaker teams such as Osasuna and Leganes.
Injuries are one of the problems that give coach Carlo Ancelotti a huge headache. Real Madrid lost their number 1 winger Vinicius and the pillars of the defense such as Militao, Alaba and Carvajal.
The injuries to the stars have forced the remaining names in the squad to play harder. As a result, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde have shown signs of being overloaded recently. They can still play at a decent level but are no longer as explosive and stable as usual.
In addition to personnel issues, Los Blancos' playing style is also having problems. Ancelotti is still struggling to find a solution for Mbappe's position. The French striker has not been able to adapt to the Bernabeu and most recently missed a penalty in the defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.
Luckily for Real Madrid, their next match will be against Getafe, a club currently ranked 15th in La Liga. Getafe have won just one of their last five La Liga games, drawing two and losing two.
Getafe's only advantage in the upcoming match is fitness. Real Madrid have to travel to England to play in midweek, which will greatly affect the players' fitness. Especially in the context that Los Blancos do not have many personnel to change.
That will cause Real Madrid some difficulties against Getafe. However, with home field advantage and superior personnel, Mbappe and his teammates are still rated much higher.
