On the evening of December 20, the Singapore team won a ticket to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024 with the second place in Group A after a 0-0 draw with Malaysia.

Time's up! Malaysia drew 0-0 with Singapore. This result helped Singapore finish second in Group A and officially have a ticket to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024 with Thailand.

Minute 90+1: The Singapore player just had a situation that caused a stir in Malaysia's goal with 2 consecutive shots. If they only lose by 1 goal, all hope of Malaysia will be gone.

The second half has 5 minutes of extra time.

Minute 85: After many unsuccessful efforts, the Malaysian team is playing down at the end of the second half.

Minute 80: There is still no goal for the players of both teams. This is the time when both Malaysia and Singapore need to be cautious and avoid making mistakes.

Minute 69: Haiqal again!!! From a corner kick, Haiqal jumped high to head the ball but once again hit the crossbar.

Minute 62: Still no!!! Malaysia's shot hit the crossbar. Number 18 Haiqal rushed in to kick the rebound but the ball hit the away team's player's foot and went out. The home team still did not score even though the pressure they created was huge.

Minute 60: No!!! This was a very uncomfortable free kick from Josue, forcing the Singapore goalkeeper to fly to punch the ball. Ruben's teammates rushed in to kick the rebound but were unsuccessful due to being closely marked.

Minute 58: Both teams have made substitutions. The two coaches sent the dry cards onto the field to find a goal to decide the match.

Minute 55: The Singapore team has just created a storm in front of the home team's goal from a corner kick. However, the away team player jumped high and headed the ball over the bar.

Minute 48: Danger! Endrick turned around and curled his left foot quickly but the ball went wide of the Singapore team's goal. Player number 10 is currently the most outstanding player on the Malaysian side.

Minute 46: The second half begins.

The first half ended. The Malaysian team temporarily drew 0-0 with Singapore.

The first half has 2 minutes of extra time.

Minute 42: No goal!!! Haqimi crossed the ball up but the number 7's shot was unable to hit the target. His teammates rushed in but could not score.

Minute 35: Singapore's lack of feeling situation. Wilkin quickly seized the opportunity but none of his teammates were able to receive a pass into the penalty area from this player afterwards.

Minute 29: No!!! Endrick returned the ball in the penalty area to Wilkin. Unfortunately, Malaysia's number 8 went just wide of the home team's goal.

Minute 20: The Malaysian team has not had any more dangerous opportunities towards Singapore's goal. The home team has had more shots (6) but there have been no really clear situations.

Minute 5: The two teams entered the game proactively, creating a very fast tempo right from the start of the match. The Malaysian team is controlling the ball better and constantly putting pressure on the Singapore defense.

20:04: The match begins.

Lineup

Pre-match information

Before the final match of Group A, both Malaysia and Singapore still have a chance to continue. Because the gap between the two teams is only 2 points, the upcoming match is almost certain to decide the remaining semi-final spot of Group A because in the remaining match, the Cambodian team will find it difficult to create a surprise against the top team Thailand.

For the home team, although they did not bring the strongest squad to the tournament when many big stars were injured, the Malaysian team is still considered a strong team, able to compete for the championship. Coach Pau Marti Vicente's team played on par with Thailand and only lost after a moment of lack of concentration in the defense.

However, sharing points against Cambodia and a hard-fought victory against Timor Leste left many worries for Malaysian football fans. Their problem lies not only in the attack but also in the defense. 3 matches, 5 goals but conceding 6 goals have shown the weaknesses in Malaysia's defense system.

On the opposite side, the Singapore team also did not have the strongest force in this year's tournament because the clubs refused to release players. However, the playing style with the current personnel of this team still brought certain results.

They have 6 points after 2 matches against Cambodia and Timor Leste to enter the 3rd match against Thailand. However, unfortunately, Singapore could not gain points in this match due to the superiority of the Thais in the rest of the match.

Visiting Malaysia, the "lion island" team has a advantage in points when they only need 1 point to continue. However, when playing at home and having a slightly better head-to-head record in history, the Malaysian team will certainly not let the away team achieve their goals easily.

The match between Malaysia and Singapore takes place at 20:00 on December 20.
