On November 5, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Binh Duong Provincial Football Championship announced the decision to discipline the collective and individuals in the match between the Thu Dau Mot City football team and the Dau Tieng District football team in Group B.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee unanimously criticized the team management and the entire two teams; banned the head coaches of the two teams from participating in directing the team's matches until the end of the tournament; and banned goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Thanh (Thu Dau Mot city team) from participating in matches until the end of the tournament.
At the same time, the Organizing Committee also deducted 2 points from each team's total points achieved in the qualifying round of Group B; all goals scored in the match between the two teams will not be counted to determine the title of Top Scorer of the tournament.
Previously, according to the referees' report on the match between Thu Dau Mot city football team and Dau Tieng district football team (the second match of group B took place on November 3), in terms of playing attitude, the two teams showed signs of lack of positivity, lack of enthusiasm, disrespect for the tournament, lack of respect for the audience, playing like a practice match and showing signs of match-fixing.
In many situations during the match, the players played without enthusiasm, especially in the 73rd minute, starting from a shot by Nguyen Huu Hoai Phong (Dau Tieng district team), the ball went lightly towards the goal of Thu Dau Mot city team, goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Thanh of Thu Dau Mot city team lightly cushioned the ball to player Tran Tan Dat of Dau Tieng district team, creating an opportunity for the opponent to score an equalizer 7-7.
According to the referees, this was not a technical error on the part of the goalkeeper. After the goalkeeper cushioned the ball for player Tran Tan Dat of Dau Tieng district, he did not resolutely stop him from correcting the mistake.
The Organizing Committee's punishment for the two teams above shows professionalism, fairness and objectivity in organizing the tournament, creating a fair and attractive playground for the teams, thereby attracting the attention of fans.

The 2024 Binh Duong Provincial Football Championship, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province in coordination with the Provincial Football Federation and related units and localities, will kick off on October 26.
The tournament was restarted after 17 years of interruption, the organization was carried out methodically and professionally, 100% of the matches were live streamed on the Binh Duong Sports fanpage. Therefore, any unprofessional actions of the players were recorded, so the teams needed to compete seriously and join hands to build the tournament.
The 2024 Binh Duong Provincial Football Championship has 12 participating teams, representing 9 districts, cities, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police and the Provincial Vietnam Student Association.
Group A and the final will be played at Di An city stadium; Group B and the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played at Binh Duong New City Center football field; Group C will be played at Phu Giao district football field.
