On November 11, in Hanoi, a press conference was held to announce the 8th Victory Cup award in 2024. This event is considered the "Vietnam Sports Oscar" organized by VTVcab, Vietcontent Company in coordination with the Department of Physical Training and Sports.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Ha Viet - Department of Physical Training and Sports said: "Through 7 seasons, the Victory Cup has been successful and affirmed the value of a leading national award. This is also a motivation for athletes and coaches to make more efforts in the future."
This year, the Victory Cup has 11 categories to honor individuals and groups with good achievements in the most comprehensive and complete way. The voting council has the participation of 16 prestigious managers, experts and sports journalists.
Accordingly, the 11 categories at the Victory Cup 2024 include Male Athlete of the Year; Female Athlete of the Year; Young Athlete of the Year; Coach of the Year; Team of the Year; Teammate of the Year; Most Favorite Athlete; Disabled Sports Athlete of the Year; Impressive Sports Image and Moment of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Foreign Expert of the Year.
The Organizing Committee and the Voting Council continue to innovate and adjust the nomination list with a flexible and appropriate increase in number. The Male/Female/Young Athlete of the Year categories each have 8 candidates; the Team/Teammate of the Year category has 6 nominations.
In addition to the selected list, the Organizing Committee and the Voting Council will continuously review and update, adding faces and teams with outstanding achievements until the last minute with two expected teams: the national futsal team (entering the final of the AFF Futsal Cup 2024) and the Vietnam men's team preparing to participate in the AFF Cup 2024.
The 2024 Victory Cup Awards Gala is scheduled to take place in mid-January 2025.
