On the afternoon of May 24, the Vietnam Bank Union won a resounding 4-0 victory over the Quang Ninh Union in the final match of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament - Northern regional qualifying round.
The banking industry team created a superior game right from the first minutes. Throughout 60 minutes of competition, the Vietnam Bank Union completely controlled the pace of the match thanks to their ability to coordinate evenly and take advantage of set pieces well.
Accordingly, Anh Tuan was the most outstanding player of the match when scoring a double, the other 2 goals were scored by Anh Son and Phu Nguyen. Notably, most of the goals originated from well-organized set pieces.
This result helped the Vietnam Bank Union win the Northern regional qualifying round for the first time after 2 consecutive seasons of second place. Last year, they failed in the penalty shootout in the regional final against the People's Police Union, then continued to miss the national championship when losing to Sacombank also in the penalty shootout.
Not only winning the championship cup, the Vietnam Bank Union also received many individual awards. Nguyen Xuan Sang was awarded the title "Best Player", Pham Viet Khanh received the "Best Goalkeeper" award, while their fan team was also honored.
The title "Top scorer" belongs to Nguyen Manh Cuong of Quang Ninh Trade Union.
The two teams tied for third place are Hai Phong Trade Union and PetroVietnam Trade Union. In addition, Hai Phong team received an additional fair-play award thanks to not receiving cards throughout the tournament.
