Dusit Chalermsan was born in 1970 and played for HAGL (Hoang Anh Gia Lai) from 2003 to 2007. He was appointed by Germany as coach HAGL in the 2009 V.League, but he had to give up his seat to Chatchai Paholpat after only 2 matches. Chatchai also only served in the army for 4 months before returning home. Dusit returned to the position of head coach, doing the work in the last 7 rounds, helping the home team finish 6th overall.
Mr. Duc put Kiatisak in charge in 2010 but was unsuccessful. Dusit continued to be given the opportunity to lead HAGL in V.League 2011, but he only completed the first leg. The poor results forced the former player to write a resignation letter, giving the seat to Huynh Van Anh.
After returning to Thailand, Dusit had connections with HAGL in late 2015. Thai media at that time raised information that this former defender would go to the Mountain City to lead his old team, replacing Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan. But this did not happen.
After stopping coaching HAGL in 2011, Dusit became the coach of the small team of Thailand, but also did not achieve much success. Things only changed at the end of 2018, when he was appointed to the hot seat of PG Pathum United. The strategist immediately helped the team win the Thai League 2 championship in the 2019 season with a record number of points, winning the right to be promoted to the highest level.
In the 2020-2021 Thai League, Dusit's team is a rookie of the tournament. But after 8 rounds, they are leading the group with an unbeaten record (7 wins, 1 draw). Pathum United are also the only team yet to lose in the tournament. Since the Thai League was resumed after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Leo team has won all 4 matches.
Notably, Dusit helped the home team defeat all 3 opponents competing directly for the championship when they beat Port FC 1-0, beat Bangkok United 2-0 (all away). On the evening of October 10, the former coach HAGL and his students continued to defeat the most successful team in the Thai League Buriram United 1-0.
The once-rector of Mr. Duc was very popular with the owners of Pathum United. At the same time, he also cleverly combined successfully between the stars, creating a very united and competitive team. In mid-season, Dusit was greatly supported when the home team recruited 3 stars: Adisorn Promrak (center-back), Sarach Yooyen ( Midfielder) from Muangthong United - the team Van Lam is playing for and center back Andres Tunez (Venezuela), former player of Buriram United. Tunez was the only scorer to help Pathum United beat their old team on the evening of October 10.
With a 5-point gap with the second-placed team, Dusit Chalermsan and his team are firmly at the top of the table, confidently aiming to compete for the Thai League championship. If successful, Dusit will create a memorable milestone in his career.
