Recently, former player Le Sy Manh caused a stir in public opinion when he assaulted a referee at a Thanh Hoa amateur football tournament taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, Sy Manh was given a yellow card by referee Pham Van Nguyen for elbowing his opponent in the penalty area. Afterwards, the former Vietnamese player walked away and hit the referee in the face, causing him to receive a second yellow card.

Dissatisfied with this decision, Le Sy Manh immediately rushed forward, kicked the referee in the hip and punched him in the face. Many players on the field rushed in to stop him, but the former player still chased after him and threw punches at the "king in black".
After this incident, Le Sy Manh received a lot of criticism on social networks and suggested that the tournament organizers should ban the competition and eliminate these unsportsmanlike actions.
In fact, this is not the first time Le Sy Manh has committed such an unprofessional and violent act. Previously, in 2017, while working at Hai Phong club, the former national team player had a scuffle and chased after goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.

At that time, according to the report the Hai Phong team sent to VPF, assistant coach Le Sy Manh was the one who threatened Van Lam, causing the Vietnamese-American goalkeeper to "panic and run away, leading to an ankle injury".
The incident happened at a restaurant, Sy Manh asked Van Lam to get a chair from inside but Lam replied "go get it yourself". Sy Manh got angry, scolded Van Lam and then assaulted the goalkeeper born in 1993.
Dang Van Lam also posted on his personal Instagram: "I am not a robber, I am a football player. I came to Vietnam to play football, not to fight."
This behavior caused Sy Manh to be fired by the Hai Phong club's leadership, and Van Lam to be internally disciplined.
Incidents related to violence and assault by Sy Manh make fans fed up.
Le Sy Manh was born in 1984 in Thanh Hoa. Before retiring, he played for clubs such as Hanoi T&T, The Vissai Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... This former player also played for the Vietnam national team under coach Henrique Calisto.
