After finishing his playing career, he worked as an assistant coach for Hong Linh Ha Tinh club. He then left the central team to complete a coaching course and achieved the AFC Pro certificate, the highest certification of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Leading Binh Duong club will be a big challenge for an inexperienced coach like Nguyen Cong Manh. The team has long been known as a "grinder" of coaches when many famous strategists have come and left quickly.
Previously, on December 9, after a meeting with the board of directors, coach Hoang Anh Tuan officially parted ways with Binh Duong club. After 9 matches in V.League 2024-2025, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and Binh Duong won 3 matches, drew 2 matches and lost 4 matches, currently ranked 8th with 11 points.
