Hanoi FC is about to appoint Mr. Makoto Teguramori (Japan) as head coach.

According to Lao Dong Newspaper, Hanoi FC has completed an agreement with coach Makoto Teguramori. The Japanese strategist will soon come to Vietnam to sign an official contract. He will start leading the purple team from the second leg of V.League 2024-2025.

At the end of January, Hanoi FC parted ways with coach Le Duc Tuan and temporarily left the coaching position to Mr. Hoang Van Phuc.

Coach Makoto Teguramori was born in 1967, played as a midfielder and spent most of his playing career with Kashima Antlers and NEC Yamagata. After retiring, he pursued a coaching career and led the Japanese U23 team from 2014-2016, with the highlight being the 2016 AFC U23 Championship.

After that, the strategist born in 1967 was promoted to the national team as an assistant to coach Akira Nishino in 2017. After leaving the team of the land of the rising sun after 1 year, Mr. Makoto continued to work at J.League.

In 2022, Mr. Makoto went to Thailand to lead BG Pathum United and helped the club win the runner-up position in Thai League 1 in the 2021-2022 season, reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2022. However, after 10 months in charge, he was fired by Pathum after failing to help the team win the championship in the 2022-2023 season.

There is information that he was invited to be the coach of Thailand U23, but chose to work in Chonburi before returning to BG Pathum.

Mr. Makoto left the Thai team in October 2024 and has not had a new job until now.

This coach can be considered the most classy coach to ever lead Hanoi FC. He has worked with many stars, including two former Liverpool players Takumi Minamino and Wataru Endo at the Japan U23 team.
