On the evening of March 19, at Binh Duong Stadium, the Cambodian team suffered a 1-2 defeat to the Vietnamese team. Although they lost the match, in general, the Cambodian team caused many difficulties for the Vietnamese team, especially in the second half.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, coach Koji Gyotoku said that although he was not satisfied with the defeat, the Cambodian team had a good performance.
"First of all, I would like to thank the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for organizing the match well today. My team played quite well in the second half. Comparing the two teams, Vietnam today has superiority over everything, from technique to strength. My team has accumulated a lot of experience. In the second half, there were many opportunities to score but we lost 1-2. This is not too satisfying but today was not a bad performance.
In the first half, we couldn't get the ball, especially the midfielder. The second half had more changes and ball control. I found the problem and could make the team improve," coach Koji Gyotoku opened the press conference.

Bong Samuel's 1-2 goal from Cambodia was a beautiful goal. When asked about this goal, coach Koji Gyotoku said he still wanted the Cambodian team to score more goals.
Regarding the naturalized players of the Cambodian team, coach Koji Gyotoku commented: "Our team has a number of naturalized players, today they played well, supported and helped the team".
On the other side of the front line, coach Kim Sang-sik of the Vietnam national team said that the match against Cambodia is a good preparation for the match against Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
"The Vietnamese team needs to prepare carefully for the match against Laos. I analyze and help players accumulate more. In addition, I will also create opportunities for players to learn. The big players are having a good physical foundation, I think that is good preparation for the next match," said Mr. Kim.
After this match, the Vietnam team will continue to practice to prepare for the match against Laos on March 25.
