Hoang Anh Gia Lai, HCMC fined after match with 13 yellow cards

Two clubs Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City received penalties after a match with 13 yellow cards.

The match between Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City clubs in round 10 of V.League 2024-2025 took place on January 17 and was extremely tense.

According to reports, a total of 13 yellow cards were issued by the referee in this match, including 1 yellow card for Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh of Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

After this match, both teams were also fined because many players received yellow cards. Accordingly, Hoang Anh Gia Lai was fined 4 million VND because 7 players were carded. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City club was also fined 3 million VND because 6 players received yellow cards from the referee.

A more serious incident occurred during the match between Da Nang FC and Ha Noi FC on January 19. Da Nang player Le Quang Hung intentionally assaulted an opposing player, resulting in him being fined VND15 million and suspended from the next two matches. This action was considered a serious violation of discipline and sportsmanship in the tournament.

Player Le Quang Hung has the right to appeal the above decision to the Complaint Resolution Board of the Vietnam Football Federation according to current regulations.
