In the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, the Vietnam women's futsal team is in the same group as Iran, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
According to the match schedule, the Vietnam women's futsal team will face Hong Kong (China) in the opening match. This will be a huge challenge for Thanh Hang and her teammates.
Before the opening match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "To prepare for this Asian Futsal Championship, we have 4 weeks of training domestically and 1 week of training in Japan.
A positive signal is that the team's physical condition is very good. I know Hong Kong (China) is not an easy opponent to play against. However, we are ready for the opening match and face them.
After overcoming the first opponent, we will consider the next matches. The immediate goal is to qualify for the group stage. After that, the Vietnam women's futsal team will aim for a ticket to the World Cup finals".
On the other side, Hong Kong (China) coach Ho wing Kam said: "We have had 3 short-term training sessions in March and April to improve our expertise, fitness and tactics.
Facing Vietnam in the opening match is a big challenge, because they have good skills. We need to prepare tactically and maintain stable performance."
The match between the Vietnam women's futsal team and Hong Kong (China) takes place at 4:00 p.m. today (May 7) and will be broadcast live on the Youtube channel of the AFC Asian Cup (under the Asian Football Confederation).
