On the afternoon of February 25, striker Nguyen Xuan Son was in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare to attend the 2024 Vietnam Golden Ball Awards Gala. After landing at Tan Son Nhat airport, Xuan Son's family was taken by the Golden Ball organizers to a hotel on Nguyen Hue Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) to rest to prepare to attend the awards gala tomorrow (February 26).
Xuan Son is still undergoing injury treatment. He came to Ho Chi Minh City with the support of the couple.
Nguyen Xuan Son is currently playing for Nam Dinh Steel Club. Because he only had Vietnamese nationality at the end of 2024, Xuan Son was still in the nomination category for foreign players. He will compete with Hendrio Araujo (Nam Dinh) and Alan Grafite (Hanoi Police) in this category.
According to Lao Dong, the Organizing Committee of the Golden Ball gala only invited Xuan Son to attend the gala. This shows that he will likely be honored in the Best Foreign Player category.
Joining Nam Dinh since the beginning of the 2023 season, Xuan Son quickly affirmed his talent and contributed greatly to the team's 2023-2024 V.League championship achievement.
Notably, after obtaining Vietnamese citizenship, he was called up to the Vietnam national team and won the 2024 ASEAN Cup championship with the team. In addition to the collective title, Xuan Son also won a double of the Golden Boot and Best Player awards.
