Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu withdrew his resignation letter and continued to take on the role of professional responsibility.

According to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Anh Tu has decided to withdraw his resignation from the Vice President of VFF and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

Accordingly, in early March, Mr. Tu submitted a request to withdraw from the above positions with the reason of focusing on business. At that time, experts were surprised because he was a person with a lot of passion for Vietnamese football, especially women's football and futsal.

However, some VFF leaders and members of the VFF Executive Committee, term 9, convinced Mr. Tu to change his mind. Finally, the Vice President in charge of VFF's expertise decided to continue his work.

Under Mr. Tran Anh Tu, the Vietnam men's futsal team won tickets to the World Cup twice in 2016 and 2021 and won the runner-up position in Southeast Asia 2024. The Vietnamese women's futsal team also won the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship and is competing for a ticket to the World Cup for the first time in history.

Most recently, the Vietnamese team won the 2024 ASEAN Cup championship and VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu held the position of Head of the delegation.

Previously, at the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Football Federation (2022-2026), Mr. Tran Anh Tu was elected Vice President in charge of expertise with 100% of the votes in favor.

In addition, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of VPF for 3 terms, contributing to enhancing the image of V.League with the highlight being improved facilities and VAR coverage nationwide.
