PVF-CAND changes coaches to compete for promotion

Thanh Vũ |

After a series of unsatisfactory achievements, PVF-CAND decided to part ways with coach Mauro Jeronimo.

This decision was made after a series of disappointing results in the last 2 rounds of the team in the 2024-2025 National First Division. PVF-CAND was held to a 2-2 draw by Binh Phuoc despite leading by 2 goals. Recently, the team also lost 0-2 to Tre Ho Chi Minh City right at home.

With this result, PVF-CAND only has 21 points and is 3 points behind second-placed Binh Phuoc. PVF-CAND is currently 12 points behind the leader Ninh Binh and will have to compete fiercely with Binh Phuoc to win a place in the V-League promotion play-off.

According to Lao Dong, Technical Director Thach Bao Khanh will take over the job of coach Mauro, to help the team improve their performance in the remaining stages of the season. It is expected that this afternoon (March 13), PVF-CAND will hold a team meeting to announce a new coach for the rest of the 2024-2025 season.

Mauro Jeronimo was appointed as PVF-CAND coach from the 2022 season and helped the team win the National First Division runner-up position for 2 consecutive seasons. However, his team could not get past the play-off match against Hong Linh Ha Tinh in the 2023-2024 season and had to continue the journey to find a ticket to the promotion in this season.
