On the evening of February 26, at the Vietnam Golden Ball Awards Gala 2024, player Tran Thi Thuy Trang was honored in the highest category for women.
Sharing her feelings after winning a noble title at the age of 36, Thuy Trang said: "My feelings are really special now. With all my efforts for a long time, today I stand here to win this most noble title. Thank you for your constant efforts, constantly trying to pursue your passion, pursue your dreams. I also thanked my teammates and coaching staff for help. Today I am in the highest position very happy and proud. This is the motivation for me to try harder, try my best to compete in new tournaments".
"My parents will not allow me to compete from 2023. But I begged my parents. Now, that is a great motivation for me to be able to reach today's success. More than anyone else, my family is my support and great source of spiritual encouragement for me to devote myself to pursuing my passion on the field," Thuy Trang added.
Thuy Trang is a special case in Vietnamese women's football. She was once in the squad of the Vietnam women's 11-a-side team participating in the 2023 World Cup finals. Currently, she is also participating in the Vietnam futsal team preparing to conquer a ticket to the upcoming 2025 World Cup in Asia.
"Everyone has dreams, so do I. I participated in the 11. I didn't think I would ever participate in the 11. That is the dream of my life and all the players. In 2025, my dream comes true again. Hopefully, once again, my teammates and I will try our best to qualify for the Futsal World Cup," Thuy Trang shared.
