On the afternoon of October 7, the Vietnamese team continued to have an active training session towards the match against the Indian team.
Before that, the whole team elected an executive committee, including captain Que Ngoc Hai and two vice captains Nguyen Tien Linh and Bui Hoang Viet Anh.
On the sidelines of his team's training session, central defender Que Ngoc Hai shared: "Whether I am in the executive committee or not, I am still a member of the team. The most important thing is that I get to play and contribute to the national team.
I am an experienced player, I need to share with my younger teammates, in addition to trying to practice for myself. Not only me, the experienced players in the team all try to convey and guide the younger players to have a better team."
The captain of the Vietnamese team added: "What the coaching staff wants most from experienced players like me, Van Quyet, and Hung Dung is to create cohesion within the team. At this time, the team has many young players. Connecting experienced players and young players is extremely important, the immediate goal is to aim for the ASEAN Cup."
According to the plan, on October 9, the Vietnamese team will play an internal match (closed) with Nam Dinh club, then have a friendly match with the Indian team (October 12).
"The head coach and coaching staff will decide which players will play in the upcoming matches. Myself and all my teammates always try and make efforts to contribute to the national team.
Every match is important. Coach Kim shared and reminded me privately about the injury. If I am ready and in good physical condition, I will still play with the team.
The fact that the Lebanese team cannot come to compete is something that no one wants. The Vietnamese team needs more matches to test many players. But anyway, Nam Dinh is the current V.League champion, competing in the AFC Champions League Two. They are a quality team, so it is reasonable to compete at this time," Que Ngoc Hai emphasized.
This could be the last training session of the Vietnamese team before reuniting at the end of November to prepare for the AFF Cup 2024. In the tournament 2 years ago, Vietnam could not win the championship.
Que Ngoc Hai said: "My whole team and I hope that the Vietnamese team will be successful in the upcoming AFF Cup. Recently, the team has not had good results. We want to bring joy to the fans at the end of this year."
Before ending the interview, Que Ngoc Hai also sent a message to Cong Phuong: "Cong Phuong's return to Vietnam is a good thing for him. I hope Phuong practices hard, plays a lot and has the opportunity to return to the national team."
