According to Lao Dong's records on the morning of December 27th, the ground of My Dinh Stadium is being implemented in the stage of flattening and leveling to prepare for the new grass planting phase.
On the yard surface, motorized vehicles operate continuously, the old soil layer has been peeled off, creating a flat surface before entering the stage of foundation treatment and planting grass according to technical procedures.
This stage is quite important, in order to ensure level, compression and drainage capacity before proceeding with planting new lawns. According to the plan, after completing leveling, the construction unit will continue to treat the deep ground, supplement technical material layers and proceed with planting lawns simultaneously.
Previously, in early September, My Dinh Stadium began to be repaired and renovated after a series of cultural, entertainment and sports events were held continuously for a long time. High-frequency exploitation caused the grass surface to degrade significantly, no longer meeting professional competition requirements.
At the time of project implementation, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training said that the sports industry set a target to complete the stadium upgrade in about 3 months, including the stage of raising new grass. However, the progress still depends greatly on weather conditions, especially the stage of planting and caring for grass.
Up to now, My Dinh Stadium is in the stage of leveling the ground, preparing for the new grass planting stage according to the correct procedure.
It is known that a budget of about 8 billion VND has been allocated to focus on repairing the grass surface of My Dinh stadium. Other infrastructure items such as roofs, stands or large technical systems are related to long-term investment capital and many procedures, so in the immediate future the project will only focus on treating the grass surface.
My Dinh Stadium will have the entire grass surface redone, the foundation reworked and 40 to 50 layers dug deep to completely replace it. The automatic spraying system will also be upgraded to ensure grass care meets standards, helping the field maintain stable quality.
More than 10 days ago, My Dinh Stadium was used to organize singer My Tam's concert. During the event, the entire court surface was covered with large panels to limit direct impact.
After the music night ended, the management unit quickly dismantled and handed over the ground for the renovation process, in order to soon restore the stadium to a state ready to serve sports activities in the coming time.
If the renovation progress is accelerated and completed in the next 2 months, it is likely that the international matches of the Vietnamese national team will be brought back to the national stadium.
In which, the match between the Vietnamese and Malaysian national teams in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers taking place in March next year may be considered for organization at My Dinh Stadium.
