Today (May 10) is the birthday of the captain of the Vietnam women's futsal team, Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang.
Welcoming her birthday in Inner Mongolia (China) on her journey with the Vietnam women's futsal team to compete in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship finals, Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang shared her high determination to overcome each match, aiming for the higher goal of Vietnam women's futsal in the world arena.
Sharing about her opportunity to become a futsal player, Thanh Hang said: I learned about futsal when I was a freshman at the University of Physical Education and Sports, majoring in coaching.
At that time, I participated in a student futsal tournament and was attracted right from the first matches. No one in my family is futsal, so I am a special, but I think my love for sports has been forged since I was a child, when every afternoon after school I go out on the field with a group of friends to play football.

In 2014, when I was 24 years old, I officially followed the path of professional futsal. A year later, I was able to wear the national team jersey for the first time, I was 25 years old at the time. That is a very important milestone in my career, shared the captain of the Vietnam women's futsal team.
As a player with many years of experience in women's futsal, Thanh Hang has participated in 12 international tournaments at the club and national team level, with 7 goals, including the most recent goal in the match against the Philippines on May 9.
The match that impressed the captain of the Vietnam women's futsal team the most was a 2-1 victory to win the 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship held in the Philippines.
It was the first time we beat Thailand a very strong opponent. That victory added confidence for the whole team to enter the Asian finals with an excited spirit, Thanh Hang said.
Talking about the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, Thanh Hang affirmed: "We have prepared very seriously. The whole team went through many high-intensity training sessions, friendly matches with strong teams and had appropriate tactical adjustments to prepare for the confrontation with continental opponents.
The most important thing is that the team spirit is very good, united and eager. Personally, I have also prepared carefully in terms of physical strength, technique and mentality. I am ready 200% of my strength to compete, because this is a great honor.

"For now, I will focus all my efforts to help the team win a ticket to the World Cup. In the future, I will take additional advanced futsal courses. When I am no longer competing, I want to switch to youth training to contribute to building the future of Vietnamese futsal, Thanh Hang expressed.
My love for football was the beginning that brought me to futsal, but it was the speed, tightness and discipline in futsal that made me deeply attached.
The feeling of handling the ball in a tight space, coordinating with teammates and scoring in a fast-paced phase - is really special. I want to inspire the younger generation and develop myself through major tournaments, added the captain of the Vietnam women's futsal team.
Tomorrow (May 11), the Vietnam women's futsal team will have the final match in the group stage of the Asian Women's Futsal Championship against defending champion Iran at 4:00 p.m. (Vietnam time).
