On the evening of December 17, the Vietnam women's team won the silver medal in the 33rd SEA Games women's football after a regrettable defeat to the Philippines.
Immediately after the final match, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of congratulations to the coaching staff and players of the national women's team.
"On behalf of the Government and the national football fans, I would like to congratulate the coaching staff and all the players of the Vietnam National Women's Football Team and the Vietnam Football Federation for winning the Silver Medal at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) - a very impressive and proud achievement, demonstrating the brave and resilient fighting spirit and continuing to affirm the position, bravery and tradition of Vietnamese women's football in the region.
We are very excited and proud that this year is the 5th consecutive year that the Vietnam National Women's Football Team has participated in the final match of the Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship. This achievement is a vivid testament to the spirit of solidarity, the will to overcome difficulties, the competitive spirit and the serious and scientific preparation of the whole team", the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts and competitive spirit of the players for the flag and shirt colors, bringing great pride and respect to the people of the whole country. Each medal is very valuable, because it is the crystallization of continuous efforts, silent sacrifice and noble sportsmanship.
At the same time, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to pay attention to directing, all levels, sectors, localities, relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to closely coordinate and support in a timely manner, the Vietnam Football Federation to continue to make efforts to develop and have a focused and key investment plan for women's football, especially creating all favorable conditions for the Vietnam National Women's Football Team to increasingly improve professional quality, maintain stability and reap more success in regional, continental and international competitions in the coming time.
