Saying goodbye to Yokohama FC (Japan), Cong Phuong decided to return home to play with a 3-year contract at Binh Phuoc club (National First Division).
But instead of being welcomed by domestic fans, Cong Phuong became the focus on social networks because of jokes and sarcasm from public opinion.
It was Yokohama FC's (Japan) farewell that sparked a wave of "bullying" of the Nghe An star on the internet.
Specifically, a series of fanpages and Facebook groups in Vietnam used images and stories to defame Cong Phuong, alluding to the male striker's unsuccessful trip abroad. Cong Phuong has almost become a "symbol" of making coffee and selling fried chicken, instead of a professional mark.

The toxicity of the Vietnamese internet environment as well as the football viewing community is becoming increasingly evident. Many people mock Cong Phuong to satisfy themselves and follow the crowd.
Even some fanpages with high reach often post articles, implying to lead and orient public opinion to "cyber violence" against Cong Phuong.
The striker from Nghe An has always been private and rarely shares personal stories on social media. Even with his past controversies, Cong Phuong rarely defends himself, does not brag or promote himself.

It cannot be denied that in recent years, the career of the former Hoang Anh Gia Lai striker has not been smooth. He only played 3 matches for Yokohama FC with a total duration of less than 90 minutes.
Cong Phuong's most memorable mark is in the media, when he appeared many times on the team's poster and advertising posters.
But in terms of his journey with Vietnamese football, Cong Phuong is still a face with many contributions. Fans can point out his mistakes, limitations, and give advice for the Nghe An player to change. But that is not the reason why social media users turn him into a laughing stock, mock him, and gradually become "cyber violence".
